Bartering for Natives: Let Me Work for Your Plants
As part of my graduate studies in landscape architecture, I’m developing a native, edible, and medicinal plant palette for a site in Athens, GA. Instead of buying plants outright, I’m sourcing through relationships—rooted in reciprocity, not just receipts.
Here’s my offer:
I’ll trade labor, design services, or food in exchange for the chance to dig up or divide your native plants.
Got extra mountain mint or overgrown Solidago? I’ll help with thinning, weeding, or whatever's needed. I'm not asking for handouts—I’m showing up with tools and intention.
What I Offer in Return
› Labor – weeding, harvesting, perennial division
› Design Services – sketches, planting plans, site analysis
› Knowledge Exchange – plant ID walks, pollinator strategies
› Food – fresh meals, garden harvests, or foraged goods
The Exchange Rate
A single plant division typically costs $9–12 retail.
One hour of labor or design support from me is valued at $25.
You get hands-on help; I get rooted materials.
We both walk away with more than we had.
If you're near Athens or Metro Atlanta and want to trade—let's talk.
